There could be a few reasons on why you might be unable to search for a user to share your study/ table/ report with. Below are some of the reasons why a user might not be searchable by you.
#1: Users must be in the same organisation to share a study/ table/ report with each other
- You can check for if you are unable to search for a user to share your study (Studio)/ Table (Analyse)/ Report (Visualise) with by first checking if they belong within the same organisation as you do. To do this:
- Go to User Admin Console through the hamburger icon located on the top left when logged into Canvas 2.0.
- Go to the User tab of the User Admin Console and locate the user. Apart from a general list search, you may also refine your search through the following:
- via search bar (*Tip: type out the user's name/ email rather than copying and pasting it from another source for optimal search experience)
- filtering the organisations through the filter function to see if they do reside in the same organisation as you
*Note: in order to check if the user belongs to a particular organisation through the User Admin Console, you would need access/ adequate permissions to the User Admin Console. Please contact your Admin to check on the user/ for possible permisisons/ approvals to the User Admin Console.
#2: In the search function of 'Share study/ table/ report' interface, there are special characters typed into the search bar
- It is recommended to avoid including special characters (e.g. '.', '_') while searching for the user when you would like to share a study/ table/ report with them.
