In Audience Group Management, you can upload your list(s) of contacts which you can possibly send surveys via email through the platform.
As part of the process of uploading email addresses for your audience group(s), these email addresses will undergo verification. (*Note: email verification could take up to 24 hours, depending on various conditions such as length of audience groups etc)
Why do the email addresses have to go through verification?
It is important for email addresses in audience groups to go through an official verification check to identify the recipient addresses as suitable for distribution of surveys and content. Sending out emails to unverified sources could result in having a negative impact on sender reputation.
Protecting our sender reputation helps with:
- Minimising bounce rates by sending to the right recipients. This means that your audience groups are more likely to get your emails in their inboxes and less likely to their spam folders.
- Minimise chances of being sent to spam. Verification helps ensure that engaged and legitimate recipients on your lists receive your emails.
- Ensures accurate list of recipients: Verification helps to eliminate any potential addresses that might not be of valid statuses (e.g. fake/ temporary email addresses, email addresses containing typos etc.), keeping your audience groups as clean as possible when it comes to quality.
What are the various statuses of verification can an email address have?
Below are the various statuses that an email address in your audience groups can have from the verification check:

| Verifying | Email address is undergoing verification |
| Verified | Email address is successfully verified and can be sent surveys via emails |
| Verification failed | Email address cannot be verified and will not be sent survey related emails |
| Suspended | Email address is suspended and future emails will not be sent to this address |
